Should I switch to my new blog soon?

I have created a new blog that will be detailing my experiences as a newbie Pagan, but first I have to decide that this is the path I want to take.  Well, I've decided.  I don't call myself Pagan (yet), but I do know that my spiritual journey is bringing me to Paganism.  I'm wondering, though, when I should transfer over to my new blog?  Should I do it March 1st?  I don't know if I should wait until I feel comfortable enough to say I'm Pagan instead of Agnostic, or if I should move to the new blog now, detailing my journey?  I know I haven't kept this blog up very good.  I've been learning so much about so many different religions, that it's hard to put it all into words.  Hmm...any thoughts?

Rest in Peace my Grandpa

On March 1st my DH and I will be performing my first pagan ceremony (ritual?).  March 1st was my Grandpa's birthday.  His name was Virgil Hugh Gipson and I want to keep his memory alive.  I swore to him that my first borne son will carry at least part of his name, probably his middle name, Hugh.  From time to time I will blog about the stories my Grandpa once told me.  Up until the time I met Jim, Grandpa was the only person who believed in me.  He was a devout Catholic and a leader in the community in Piedmont, MO.  I love my Grandpa so much.  I miss him dearly.  DH and I talked about the ritual that we are going to do.   I never told my Grandpa good-bye and I still have dreams that I'm running to him and just as I'm getting to him he dies.  I think now I'll finally be able to say good-bye.  Well, look at me, now.  I start talking (aka blogging) about Grandpa and the tears star rolling.  Now is it called ritual or ceremony, I don't know?  I crossed ceremony out earlier but I'm not sure whether ceremony or ritual is the appropriate word.

Because he was a devout Catholic (and I used to be) I want to light a candle for him at the Catholic Church.  Then I want to make his favorite dessert coconut pie.  The man loved his coconuts!

Rest In Peace

Hijab

I have been wondering what I would look like in hijab, or the way Muslim women veil and stay modest.  I just put on the veil.  Here are the pictures, born of my own curiosity.

To answer any questions that would arise, no I am not Muslim and I have no interest in converting to Islam.  I was just curious what I'd look like in hijab.  I didn't have any pins to use so I had to do the best I could.  I watched YouTube videos to try to get the hang of it first.

Belief-O-Matic!

I was looking around on a website today called Beliefnet.  I found this nifty little quiz called the "Belief-O-Matic."  The name caught my eye because it is funny, but I do think a few of the questions in it have substance.  I've decided I'd like to learn a little more about some of these religions, if for nothing else, knowledge.  My DH said he just couldn't see me being Muslim or a Scientologist.  I told him I couldn't see myself being a Protestant Christian.  Religion has become a new hobby for me.  I love learning about religion. I started on my own religious journey but then I discovered a new passion for learning.  I have a Islam tutor I work with through email so I can learn about Islam.  I am learning about Judaism from my bff on Facebook.  I am learning about paganism from books, blogs, FB, Twitter, and of course, DH.  I wonder if it is possible to be completely unbiased while studying religion.  I try not to be biased but I admit that some bias does come in.  I think it is nearly impossible to be completely unbiased.  Anyway, I thought I'd post the results to this quiz, not because I'm going to base my religion on it, but because it's food for thought.  I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Your Results

The top score on the list below represents the faith that Belief-O-Matic, in its less than infinite wisdom, thinksmost closely matches your beliefs. However, even a score of 100% does not mean that your views are all shared by this faith, or vice versa.
Belief-O-Matic then lists another 26 faiths in order of how much they have in common with your professed beliefs. The higher a faith appears on this list, the more closely it aligns with your thinking.
